chip always throws his dance music at us, personally i can't stand the stuff but i always watch & often enjoy so i figured i'd do the same. please contribute yours, i don't want to just jack myself off here.
first off is one of the best low budget vids i know. pure stoner metal, you gotta watch it till the end...

next up is human eye's "gettin' mean" very much in line with my fave genre, low-fi garage punk, classic or like this one, modern. opening lyrics: "the world is bad, and it only gets worse, and the ruins of a man are so diverse"

next up straight from 60's london is screaming lord sutch with a cover of washington states sonics "jack the ripper" think the liverpool lads were cutting edge? not a chance. at least watch until his lordship's entre... i think mary was the last & most mutilated of jack's victims...
last up is the mummies, the kings of san fransisco "budget rock"
audience member "hey, it's not the end" mummies: "bullshit" i drank many olympia beers with the masked mummies after shows. they'd be there all night till dawn & never take off their wraps

cats & kittens allow me to present memphis' one and only, (the) Oblivians. sorry no vids. first one is for chip, this is the sort of soundtrack to my party scene - 90's garage punk, seen these guys twice in vegas, once at my dive bar the double down saloon, once in a backyard & yep, someone did call the police:
and here's the sort of dancing we do at such gatherings:
-
Thanks Moe ... i liked the Rock(abilly?)'n'Roll track better and of course, that tricky dance floor !
-
ladies and gentlemen, america's first and only rock and roll band, the mc5:
dig the guys smoking a j on the left side of the stage
-
like i said, im just going to keep doing this, try to stop me.
this one is outside of my normal scene but has been giving me goosebumps & good feeling for a couple weeks. poignant given the us's current climate regarding immigrants, no vid.

oh my, gg allin showed up in here. hope he don't throw shit on me. i actually like his very early cheesy stuff like the jabbers, but mostly his reputation made me think he'd just be a bit over the top for me so i never really listened to much of the later stuff. Did he do a lot of acoustic stuff like that? i didn't expect that, nice surprise.
Diversity is what makes the world a fun place, thanks for contributing!

this one's good. the 13th floor elevators who coined the term psychadelic rock. roky erikson the guitarist and singer had a storied career but suffered from schitzophrenia, there's a beautiful documetary about him, named from this song "you're gonna miss me.

did you pick that intentionally? i ask this because i a play guitar & that's one of maybe 4 songs i can play/ sing off the top of my head, ie without looking at a sheet, granted i can usually only do this well by myself or in a chemically induced happy state. you gotta catch me at the the right time sort of thing. sweet jane is what i like to lay on the ladies (as if, hahahahah): here's the cowboy junkies version since there's no velvets live footage. i like to play it like this version though, slow & meloncholy. i could play you walk on the wild side for reals though.
Post Merged: December 19, 2018, 01:34:03 PM
jesus christ isn't that beautiful!?!?
-
I only picked it because i liked that version.
... and yes, that slow version is sweet as.
