Title: Methadone vs. Morphine Sulphate.
Post by: Chip on June 14, 2015, 06:00:53 PM
I am currently orally (with the occasional IV) using 22.5 mg. Methadone (taper/detox dose) and on occasion, a 60 mg. Morphine Sulphate (MS-Contin) tablet.

I find that i tolerate Morphine better than Methadone and the two work well together when alternating between the two.

Do i feel either drug in any significant way ? No.

Hey chipper. I'm curious what ya mean exactly by tolerating the morphine better???

Also, I wanted to say I feel ya, about the taper and about taking opis but not feeling them :-(

I think there hasn't been enough studies done on switching to a short(er) acting opioid than methadone in order to get off the stuff, like being on morphine for about a month before beginning the taper. Methadone is such a bitch to get off of because its half life is so long, you have a reservoir of the substance in your body, that will take a few weeks to a month to get it all out.

But the kick has got to better than straight methadone.

You trying to get off the dope completely now. C'mon we haven't even had any fun yet, Chipper.

I've always thought this idea has merit, especially as I'm trying to wean of MMT right now.

I don't think I could do it, tho- without going crazy on an H run... :-(

Zoops, I can't inject any more and the meth pipe seems more appropriate.

of course, if I could keep on using, but that's not possible.

I'm turning to the forum for fun, instead.

i think thats fucking excellent man,  i too have developed hobbies and interests and what i do is get high as fuck on methadone right when i first get my takehomes, i do ALL of them, iv, do some xanax, lasts about 48 hours, then the rest of the week i do no opiates, i take lope if i feel shitty for some reason but i no longer have to take handfulls of the stuff

so yeah once a week is get high as possible day, with the following day as well because lingering effects and all

then i smoke weed the rest of the time

ive stuck to this rigorous schedule for the past 2 years, its how i went through college and seems to be working just fine.  but the key that you mentioned is you need to find something you really enjoy to throw yourself into in the mean time, which can be hard, and you may have to go through the motions at first but you will get there if you put in the time.
