It is an extremely unregulated industry.  Especially considering that many of the ingredients could be dangerous.  From exploding batteries, to flavor additives, to poorly extracted nicotine that contains carcinogens and other not nice stuff.  Sure, they want their money.  The little guys also want to exist without giving their money away.  Somewhere in theiddle probably serves everyone's needs.

I think what bothers me the most about vaping is all of the advertising.  Highly sexualized, rule of cool advertising.  I can't even see cigs on display here (they have to be hidden by shelves), and forget about cigarette advertising or sponsorship.  I don't want to start seeing the vuze vapor rampage or something.

My opinion is not all bad, not all good, and that it will probably get signed in a radically different way then it was proposed.  Probably with some weird rider relating to budgets or abortion.

e-cigs are the biggest thing to happen in stop-smoking technology like ever.  I think nicotine itself isn't a carcinogen (correct me if I'm wrong), it's all the shit that comes from burning the leaves.  I'm cool with the FDA regulating the safety of devices/batteries & harmful ingredients but I really think they should be encouraging their use when it's a choice between cigs or e-cigs, ie when someone is already a tobacco user.
