Aripiprazole
« on: June 07, 2015, 08:31:45 AM »
i recently tried 10-20 mg. of this compound but didn't feel it at all.

I am currently on 10 mg. Olanzapine and that may be the reason why.

How much do yall pay for this drug???

Even as a generic(name brand Abilify) the CASH PRICE would be $900+ for #30 10mg!!!! CRAZY.

I just switched from Risperdone 2mg to the Abilify 10mg because I was worried about risperdones affect of testosterone. The abilify seems nice, but once my insurance restarts and I have to meet a deductible there is no way I'm paying 400-900 for 30 pills. MIght try to ween myself off the psych's using abilify considering its only a partial antagonist.

I have a friend who is a paranoid schizophrenic and it really works well for her.

That's price is nuts. It's free in Oz but that's no help to you as you want to know about US prices.

My son takes it. It's used off label to control aggression/irritability related to autism spectrum disorder in kids/adolescents. When he first started it 3 yrs ago it was like a fucking miracle drug for him. As time has gone on it's effects have sort of diminished. He gained some weight on it but not a ton. It's super expensive for sure, but luckily it's covered by our insurance 100%.

@ Dopeless...does your son have autism?  My daughter does.  We tried a bunch of meds when she was younger (around ages 6-11) for aggitation/aggression.  Unfotunately, they made her 100 times more aggressive and gave her a crazy super-human strength!  It was nuts!

Fortunately, after stopping all her meds, she calmed down a lot and now that she is older (19) she has outgrown most of those behaviors.

As long as her environment is semi-predictable, routine and she isn't far away from her computer, she is fine!!

Yes @Lolleedee he does. He's "high-functioning" whatever that means, but is definitely on the spectrum. He's also diagnosed with ADHD, but as I'm sure you know the two are really interchangeable as far as symptoms go. Adderall was a life saver for him as far as being able to keep it together at school. He's in 6th grade now, and I'm dreading the start of puberty. He can be incredibly aggressive, especially with me & I worry alot about what will happen as he gets bigger & stronger. I'm glad to hear that that your daughter has mellowed as she got older. Many people have told me that most kids on the spectrum do tend to get much less challenging after the early teen years. I sure hope so. Too bad I can't just fast forward lol😂😂
