Quitting Nicotine CT ?
« on: May 11, 2015, 08:23:24 PM »
do NOT try this when trying to quit another drug.

i couldn't cope with a concurrent M'done taper plus the smoking cessation.

i bought an e-Hookah disposable electronic cigarette but it only lasted a few hours.

currently on roll-your-owns for the difficult times.

cessation may restart AFTER M'done taper is complete and more Vapeing products to be researched

I also agree with this.  I've heard several doctors say "you should quit smoking too, at the same time as you're quitting opiates."  I cannot disagree with that statement enough.

Quitting nicotine on top of quitting other drugs is too much shock to one's system.  I believe it's just setting someone up to fail.

I've had a lot of success with e-cigs and vaping.  I mainly switched to save money.  It's a lot cheaper than buying cigs.  But I've been able to go months without smoking cigarettes.  I only ever smoke now when I'm offered a cig.

If you find that vaping e-liquid containing only nicotine isn't helping much, maybe look into getting liquid that has whole tobacco alkaloids (WTA e-liquid).  http://vapelicious.com/wta-faq/  It's supposed to be more satisfying than liquids that only contain nicotine.

Another thing I love about e-cigs is that I don't smell like an ashtray anymore.  My sense of smell and my breathing have improved.  I can easily tell when someone's smoked now.

As for what's a good e-cig, I think it depends on what you like.  You can get Blu or Vuse (https://vusevapor.com/) style e-cigs, or you can also buy mods with a vape tank and put in a variety of liquids.  Liquids come in varying nicotine strengths: 0, 6, 12, 18, 24mg, etc.  If you smoke around a pack per day, I suggest starting with the 12mg liquids.  If you smoke two packs per day, the 18 or 24mg liquids would probably be better.

Another thing I've noticed with vaping is that I get way more nicotine this way.  It's just too easy to puff on my mod all day long, whereas with smoking I'd smoke a cig, then another 30 or so minutes later.  Once the cigarette is gone, you quit smoking.  With a vape tank, you don't run out of liquid for a long time.  It's just easier to vape vape vape.  It's similar to being a chain smoker.  I'm a chain vaper.  That can be helped by having self-control though.

For an idea of what type of e-cigs or mods are available, you can look here: http://altsmoke.com/ as a reference guide.

I currently use the Innokin iTaste VTR for the mod, and the Kanger Pro-Tank 2 for the tank.  I want to upgrade to a Kanger Aerotank once the store gets some in stock.

well, it had to be asked eventually: is it possible to add something (say, like 10-20 mg. doses of methamphetamine) to the nicotine ?

it would be of interest to more than a few, i'd say ... are the refills completely sealed and can you just pour the nicotine liquid in, in some cases ?

I know that meth is extremely hydrophilic, but I'm not sure about other solvents.  Vaping e-liquids are made with vegetable glycerine (VG) and propylene glycol (PG).  Some liquids have a ratio of 50/50, or 70/30, etc.

As long as meth can be dissolved in VG or PG or both, you could definitely put it into your liquid.  You could use liquid with nicotine in it, or just 0% liquid.  People who use e-cigs to taper down often use 0% liquid at the end to satisfy their vaping fixation without getting any nicotine.

If you were to use liquid for meth use, I'd probably use the 0% liquid.

I know that diazepam (Valium) is soluble in propylene glycol.  One could put several mgs of diazepam into PG and dose that way, assuming the diazepam had a vaporizing temp. compatible with the temperatures produced by your particular mod.

Also, if you really want to vape meth via e-liquid, you'd have to use a mod with a vape tank.  With vape tanks, you can add your own liquid.  I don't think that's possible with Blu / Vuse type e-cigs.  With those you just buy pre-measured refills, and you can't add your own liquid.  I know that's how Blu works.  The newer Vuse might be different.

To add liquid / refill a vape tank, you simply unscrew the base and add liquid, then reattach the base of the tank.  That's how my tank works.  Others might work differently.  Refer to the instructions provided with your particular vape tank.

I've done meth a few times (smoking crystal), but I doubt I like it as much as you.   ;)  I'd love to try this with morphine or other strong opiates though.  Fent might be fun.

Good luck.  I hope you have success with this.  It would certainly make dosing in public much easier.

Also, some people make their own e-liquid.  They'll order PG and VG and nicotine powder, then combine them to make their own custom blend.

You could always order PG / VG and add the meth that way.  You could even make your own brand of methamphetamine liquid for you and your friends!  Chipper's Speedy Vape!   ;D

Thanks for the compliment Chipper.  I have to admit though that my knowledge about vaping pales in comparison to some others.

Some people get really involved, with sub-ohm tanks, ohms laws, rebuildables.  They even make their own replacement heads using wicks and wires.  I'm not good for that type of thing.  It's just too technical and way too involved.  It's more like a hobby for them.  To me it's just a way to get nicotine for less money.

I'm just not interested in vaping in that respect.  The stuff I gave is just a good general info kind of thing.

I really do hope you find an e-cig setup that works for you though.  I think if you find the right one, you'll be able to quit smoking, or at the very least reduce your smoking.

That meth experiment sounds interesting too.  Let me know how that goes.   ;)
