Why I think that Tobacco is SO Hard to Give Up ...
« on: May 09, 2019, 03:47:38 PM »
I have just been dis(super)charged from a place where smoking was not permitted and had full access to NRT (NIcotine Replacement Therapy).

Patches work best. The gum and inhalers work too but you really want to see SMOKE (mirrors?).

The whole problem with Cigarettes is that 20 minutes later, it NAGS ! nag, nag, nag ... until you cave.

then it "leaves the cap off the toothpaste", then it "makes a mess and burns dinner" etc.

but it NAGS, NAGS and NAGS ! Heroin is easy - get a shot/get on done/bupe, whatever ...

but Cigs ? the "heavy" feel of exhaling smoke, the headspin AND the end of the NAG is the bitch, the hag, the nagger: the sweet puff of nicotine. Make mine 'ICY MENTHOL", nobody seems to turn them down anymore - not at near $33-40 for a pack of 25+1.

$33 to $40 for a single pack?  that is outrageous...but I can see that happening here someday...I can't see many people being able to maintain a habit for very long. I smoked a pack a day when I was smoking...wow

I use special tar filters with approx 16 cg. (units of Cognitive Dissonance) so i get a tad healthier with every drag. Wait, is there even such a thing  ::) (might be because i'm on it, honestly ;))

Any desire can be overcome and you can quit smoking. The question is that you don't want to quit smoking. I haven't smoked for two years and I'm very pleased with that.

I eventually quit smoking.

It's been over a year now and I feel so much better and there is no more constant craving for a smoke.

The price of a packet of 25 smokes in Australia is near $AUD 50 ! That's another very good reason to not smoke any more.
