phasing out 'done for pain?
« on: August 08, 2018, 01:33:37 AM »
Has anybody else ran into this? I prefer 'done for pain so I can take them and pass my drug test at the clinic and at the dr's office. Anyway, everybody I talk to that gets em rx'd and every doctor I go to says the same thing, they're pretty much stopping prescribing them for pain unless you have cancer because of some new law(s).

Pain clinic just called me and said they got my referral but informed me that they wouldn't write for 'done. Lady said I don't know of ANY pain doc's writing 'done for pain anymore. I said that's what it's for so why else would they write it? She said since the new equivalency laws go into effect in Jan. 2019, that doctors ain't writing 'done for pain anymore.

All you folks rx'd 'done for pain, please let me know what you've heard or been told by your doctor.

This really feels like the government is TRYING to make heroin a bigger problem than it is. They're getting rid of the one pain med that lasts long enough where folks ain't fiending for their next fix or pill and that doesn't give a rush and probably over 99% of users use it orally.

She's full of shit. My friend still gets his fat script of dollies (10mg methadone pills) for pain. Guess it just depends on the dr..

it could be a long term plan and/or state by state thing.

in Oz, junkies get liquid Methadone and pain patients get tablets of Physeptone.

Gabapentinoids can work better for neuropathic pain and now compete with opiods.

i still think that Oxycodone is the best pain killer.

^^^Wow, for some reason I'm actually surprised you said oxy Chip. I'm not sure why.
Believe it or not, even though weed has never been my favorite or even close, that crazyass plant knocks out my migrianes and all other pains better than any opie.
I do agree with ya on the Gabas. BUT this last Lyrica run has given me only minor wds and they fucking sucked. Every muscle in my body hurt. For some reason it felt like soneone beat my face with a bat. Oh and my favorite was the hour where at first my blood pressure was super high then bottomed out and I was almost considering going to the hospital (only because I have heart issues). Tolerance and dependence comes on fast with Lyrica/Gabapentin.

it's just my personal experience, that's all ~ a subjective thing, i guess.

Phenibut, a gabapentinoid, hasn't caused me any grief yet but i do go easy on it.

Yes, Lyrica's tolerance causing is insanely rapid so i stopped pursuing it. I can only imagine the withdrawals ... go easy there.

I've been told this in 2 different states now and they're saying the same shit. They're both in  the deep south though so they could've passed similar laws.

FWIW, if I had to choose something for acute pain and taking euphoria out of the equation, I think Fent is the best pain killer. At least for short term acute pain.

Not sure I'd use it for a migraine though because they seem to be different than other types of pain and Fent gives me a headache sometimes so I'd probably choose a good shot of Dilaudid or even a double dose of Demerol for a migraine. No matter my tolerance, if I'm not sick, a shot of Demerol and Phenergan usually knocks a migraine dead in it's tracks but I usually try to take a few lortabs or percocets too. IMO, relief from a really bad migraine > a great IV rush and buzz.
