Suboxone, increasing 16mg -> 24mg daily effects
« on: March 08, 2018, 03:35:57 PM »
Hello, one reason I like opioids is because they give energy and coziness. Like, the more heroin you do, the more cocaine you can do. So does dosing more suboxone give more of a comfy come down blanket considering the receptors are mostly saturated by 16mg? Would 24mg only feel 5% better? To me, even though I still won't get sick within 24 hours, my mind gets used to constantly "coming up" on a dose, but would each 8mg dose be that much less enjoyable to compromise or do you think it be a worthwhile net gain. when increasing from 10mg -> 16mg, effects pretty much doubled. I was enjoyably nodding off for months as I slowly increased my dose.

Man with bupe less is more. I'd say stick around 2 to 4 mgs a day. Your just gonna have a rough time getting off of it if u go super high. Chasing the buzz on a maintenance med can lead to shit as well. When I stabilized on bupe. I was on 2 mg a day. When I tapered of it made it that much easier.
This all just my opinion. But if i were u i wouldnt go up that high. You dont need much bupe to keep you well.

Ive read that less is more and used to preach it as well. Since lower doses do not occupy almost all receptors, there is still room for full agonists to bind, ie metabolite nor-buprenorphine. Even with the tolerance of 1 roxi, or when I started getting very minor w/ds, 0.5mg 1mg 1.5mg 2mg 2.5mg 3mg sub never felt good for me or gave me anything I liked from opioids, in fact I remember feeling "more flora than fauna" on those doses. Suboxone was pointless for me to take until 8+mg. I have tapered off before but I was never stable on one of those low doses for a few months, allowing tolerance to level out to see if it would be more enjoyable, but I don't think it would give me what I need.
I should have stated that my use of suboxone is atypical, my doctor is even ok with me staying on indefinitely(long as I pay him $200 every 4 weeks...). I don't plan to stop taking opioids, I don't see any reason, they have not really harmed my life in any way, though I used to have miserable chronic pain so I had less to lose to begin with, so to speak. Hopefully one day I can afford a doctor that will give me enough of some painkiller to be comfortable. For tapering off bupe, going from 16mg-> 4mg was very easy, <4mg was when it got somewhat difficult. Does the hole get that much deeper at 24mg? I wish 2mg or so of bupe worked like I imagine it does for you and many others.

That's ruff man. 2mg will take me off being sick. If ur doing it for CP the lower doses might help. I just can fathom taking that much bupe man. Imo 24mg is to high. But that's me and my body. I wish u the best of luck finding a good pain management center. At least youbdidnt mentioning banging the subs. That's a whole other ordeal.
