i've looked into ketamine infusions for myself, there's a place in denver that does it.  that's an hour away & I'd need to show up multiple times a week at the beginning which i can't do.  This could be the ticket, thanks for the info.

i mentioned ketamine infusions elsewhere on here.  i recently learned my psych is doing it so i asked him about it today.  he thinks i'm the perfect candidate, bipolar, etc.  cool thing is he does it the less popular way, an im all at once instead of a slow drip.  says it's shown to work better but people can be more shaken by the experience.  day before thanksgiving is my first, will take an hour and a half & need a ride home.  he says former/current addicts are the least likely to find the experience enjoyable.  he's done it over 300 times & said the guy who liked i best was a devout morman who'd never had one intoxicant.  "i loved it", go figure.

i also brought up the fact that i ordered shroom spores to try microdosing.  he was all for it but wants me to wait until after the ket infusions so i can evaluate each separately.  he said it's very effective for ocd (not me, you should see my apartment) less so for depression/anxiety/bipolar but still many report good results.  says .10-.15 gram 4 or 5 times a week is the norm.

i'll definitely keep you guys informed with what i find, i'm super optimistic.

interesting ted talk on one of the studies that helped bring this about.  it's likened to a "vaccine" against the stressors that bring about or exacerbate depression & ptsd.

crickets around this place lately...

tomorrow 7:30 am which seems a bit early for an out of body experience.  expect a full report.  i'm off work until monday, 5 days, maybe they'll be great for a change.  usually my days off suck worse than work since i'm left alone with myself & negative thoughts.

Post Merged: November 22, 2018, 04:32:48 AM
Well, shit.  My laptop just went black, only have a phone now.  I'll get back to this when i can, was interesting to say the least.

Doc took my weight to calculate dosage, said something like  .8, thinking thats maybe .8mg/kg.  Said that was a large dose since i'm experienced with these things & wasn't apprehensive about it at all.  Afterward he said next time he'll give me the largest possible dose & i'll for sure experience full ego dissolution/death.  Felt somewhat close this time, was definitely out of my body for a while.

He had me lie on the couch with a blanket & eyeshades, said not to take them off, if i did the room would be spinning & such.  He played some soft tranc-ey music that went well with the experience.  It lasted about 45 minutes or an hour, was a bit dizzy & unsteady for an hour afterward.  There wasn't any real 'halucinations" like with a real psychadelic, maybe if i'd have opened my eyes.  It felt like a lower dose of shrooms where the "halucinations" are all in the realm of thought, mixed up signals & strange trains of thought.  There wasn't any edginess like with lsd, ket has an overall calming effect.  I enjoyed the experience & am looking forward to the next one.

I feel good today, nothing earthshattering but he said don't expect to feel amazing, many people are dissapointed that they dont get a big shot of joy like they were expecting.  Shrink said instead pay attention to what you start DOING that you couldn't before - exercise, socializing, working toward goals.  Stuff that should be enjoyable becomes enjoyable again.

I do feel something of a "lightness" today, like weight off my shoulders and i do really feel like "doing stuff", working on a project or getting out of the apartment.   Glad i did this

I was shooting about 120 mg @70 kg body weight so that's a good dose.

it was an im shot.i weigh 65kg, he must have been talking about 80 mg.  now i recall him saying 100 for next dose so that's probably it.  doc instructed me not to take off my eye shades because the room would spin & i could get motion sickness.  did you not get that effect?  i know there was now way i could dance an hour after when i was coming out of it.

Always. The trick is to not move your head for 20 minutes (IV, so maybe 30 IM) and that way = no motion sickness.

today is saturday, took the ket wednesday.  these last 3 days have been pretty incredible for me.  i looked forward to feeling really awesome great, on top of the world, able to conquer any difficulties.  i only know about feeling good in some state of mania so that's what i was expecting.  what i woke up to the next day was very different.  a quiet state of calmness i've not felt in years.   i went to thanksgiving dinner at my folks, always a big to -do with tons of family, friends, neighbors.  usually i hate this shit, i'm a welder who's lost 3 jobs in 3 years, everyone is talking about investments & retirement plans.  this time i was back to my old self like 20 years ago, had much to add to the convo & was playfully antagonistic to the materialism of it all without actually offending anyone.  my dad called me the next day to say he's not seen me been so engaged with others in __ years.

i'm almost in tears typing this, i've felt the same for the last 3 days.  i wake up with a feeling that the world is good and that i have something worthwhile to offer.  i can concentrate.  this morning i spent 2 hours reading kierkegaard, it's been 10-15 years since i could concentrate/focus on stuff like that

There’s a place in Virginia they are using it. My buddy tried it. This particular place wasn’t a good vibe. Surprisingly easy to get into and insurance will not help. Cost him close to 2grand for one session. He said he was a little too high and they tried to come in and talk to him about sad shit etc. Sounds interesting, this was over FB though so he said he would tell me the details in person. But essentially he said, he’d preffer to buy it off the Deep Web for a fraction of the cost

Bloody Ket. Junkies .... good on ya, Moe.

Ya coulda saved a bundle and popped into some groovy nightclub and scored there ...

I jest but that's what i used to do about 6 years ago, anyway as it's either not around or i'm just not "hooked up" these days :)

I'd be dancing around the club like an idiot, find some Ket., go home and shoot it then back to the club to for the last few 'bumps' (snort it off the end of a key) !

That's great man! I'm glad to hear it's working for you so far. Sounds awesome and hope it helps more people and the word gets out more so folks know about this treatment option. Very promising to hear. Can't wait to try it but hope I can find it online instead of paying out the ass at a clinic.

had my second round today, was more intense but again very pleasant.  definitely lost the sense of self for a while.  Still feeling the same, really good & calm at the same time which as i said before is not normal for me at all.  i had a little downturn on sunday but was very mild & i always go downhill on sundays.  my next normal appointment is in a month.  i hope these treatments work for a good while, it can vary a lot between individuals.  i really can't afford to do this once a month like some do, but if i keep feeling like this i will find a way if i have to.  worth it, regardless.

terrance mckenna (psychonaught extrordinaire & my favorite authority on the subject) talk about the ket experience.  i find it mostly accurate except for one thing - he speaks of insights had during the experience that cannot be brought back upon re-awakening.  that sounds like an acid experience to me.  i can recall all of the experiences i had on ket but none offered any real "information" or insight beyond a general connection with the universe & sense of well being, being cared for.
