Omg I'm a dufuss, It's actually 1.08 a pack not .85. I failed to realize I'd need two boxes of tubes per pound of tobacco.

Vaping just never did it for me. I tried to like it, I really wanted to, but it just cant replace my smokes. I'm not just addicted to nicotine, it's the whole ritual, the feel, the smell, its just a comfort thing. I love my cigs. Vaping just isn't nearly as satisfying.

6M, they tax all tobacco products heavily in Australia.

They soon predict that a packet of regular cigarettes will cost $40 in Australia - the price always goes up and it really stops you from smoking much.

I often think that its not fully appreciated how powerful nicotine is to so drastically pervade and corrupt many aspects of ones thought patterns, but in a way which bypasses full conscious inspection. This really becomes apparent once one is unchained from nicotine in all its forms, with the good old cigarette being the most pernicious of the modes of delivery. The hit is pretty crap when one is not addicted; it lacks the bells and whistles that come with the other drugs which rival it in it's ability to hook the user, and yet its claws run deep. Once well entrenched in the habit, the hit matures as the relief from withdrawal it offers becomes more worthy. For me, nicotine exceeds opiates in terms of addiction potential.

For those seeking freedom from nicotine I had excellent results with a compound called Cytisine  , branded as Tabex, which allowed me to quit cigarettes and NRT and, more importantly, has allowed me to get to the point where I have no cravings since completing the 25 day course, and I am respectfully conscious of what a powerful agent nicotine is. Varenicline aka Chantix is a derivative of cytisine; pretty remarkable stuff IMO.

^^^My husband tried Chantix once and had night terrors or something close--he would wake up and start freaking out thinking I was trying to kill him, lol. It's funny now.
I don't know about anyone else but I was just happy enough to see Corpus posting. So informative. :)

Yeah I agree. That was a great post said this smoker.

I plan to stop smoking after I stop the Methadone as I have done before.

I was doing really well but picked up smoking when I started to go on breaks with my colleagues after starting a new job.

I guess there is little chance of that happening as I can't find work anymore.

It could be genetics, my whole family smokes or dips. But in my early days of smoking, there was probably more bells and whistles to a cigarette hit than anything ive ever had. God help me if a drug ever comes out that can give me that feeling without such a rapid tolerance to subjective effects.

I also agree with the guy that said vaping just doesnt cut it. I will say that ive quit for 3 months before on two occasions. One i was in an an institution. The other time was due to vaping. But i still went back, and ive stopped caring about quitting since then(i was only 22, it was more due to an unrealistic obsessive health kick than actual concern) and ill never waste money on that shit again. It doesnt cut it as a replacement, and if i truly want to quit its too similar to smoking for me to ever stop dancing back and forth and lighting up
