Only thing I disagreed with in that article was the moral equation of mandates to inoculate 12-year old girls against HPV (a sexually transmitted disease) with drug legalization efforts. On its face, at first blush, the idea of mandatory HPV vaccination seems to be a good one, but I think the comparison made is inexact. Because it should be optional whether a parent wants to give their too-young-for-sexual-activity daughter a vaccine against a sexually transmitted disease. Just like it should be optional for one to take mind-altering drugs.

Rock fishing, which sounds very dangerous, and not regulated at all, seems to be a more apt comparison to make.

What is rock fishing anyway? I'm going to look it up.

I think my parents generation is a lost cause... those old fucks are too far gone... overdosed on propaganda. And the ones that do see the light, are, most of the time, too afraid to speak up on this particular issue due to the perceived, and probably real, backlash from their peers.

Hopefully us Internet babies can make something happen... In the 90s, legalization of weed probably looked as far away as the legalization of hard drugs does now.
