Sysplex Checkpoint โ€” 2026-10-10 05:48 AEDT (Clone orchestrating)

Supersedes Sysplex_Checkpoint_20261009_1913.md (which is wrong about the ISE mirrors โ€” see ยง3). Paste/upload at the start of the next conversation.

Andrew = retired sysadmin, owner of drugs-and-users.org (SMF). Reply header Claude: [DD/MM/YYYY--HH:MM:SS:mmm TZ] from code execution every reply. Markdown only. Few questions, more statements. Delivery rules: bump @version/@date, version-history entry, print version at start, dotted versioned zip, xmllint on XML, release card; SMF package zips use his legacy zipper (Claude has none). His grep is aliased --color=always: use grep --color=never when piping.

1. The three boxes

Box Role Notes
Live forum.drugs-and-users.org, production, 64-bit CentOS 6.10 tz +08; NO mirror scripts run here (its copies are inert); use $RUN for glibc Python
Clone 64-bit CentOS 6.10 rebuild, orchestrator Clone's /bin is the master of all three /bin dirs; glibc 2.17 at /opt/glibc-2.17
Dev dev.mirror, 32-bit CentOS 6, kept as long as possible no torch/transformers/llama.cpp possible

Each box: 3 webroots, only /var/www/html (db smf209) used; smf20 (2.0.19) and smf21 (2.1.7) are unused placeholders.

2. Done

3. CORRECTION โ€” --delete policy (final)

--delete is KEPT on: the mirrorISE_* scripts (ISE data/project mirrors), and mirrors of /root, /bin, /etc, git. Removed from everything else (web html, /home, SQL, router, perl/cpp pushes, fibacksmf, etc.). Reason ISE keeps it: without it, deleted docs/media linger on the target and ISE returns hits for items that no longer exist; compareISE_Data / json_md5_diff_Live flag strays. Suggested hygiene: periodic --delete -n dry run on the ISE mirrors. (Claude misread this once and built a zip stripping ISE; discarded.)

4. Open items

  1. Decide: replace the two named excludes (AudioProcessor.py, AudioProcessor_manual.md) in mirrorISE_Clone's first rsync with --exclude 'AudioProcessor*'. Note: with --delete kept on this rsync, excluded names are protected from deletion; unexcluded variants (versioned copies, .pyc) would be deleted/overwritten on Clone.
  2. processor_checkpoint.json absent on Clone โ€” is the media processor meant to write it?
  3. <description> in package-info.xml stale ("some tools and core_utils.py").
  4. Re-zip the full Collaborative package with his legacy zipper; test 6.0 hooks on Clone's smf21.
  5. Dry-run mirror1_Clone with -n once to check the excludes (never dry-run tested; no rsync in Claude's workspace).
  6. mirror1_Dev echo text says "ONLY Clones /bin" but excludes Dev's Collabware/bin/ too โ€” fine if intended.
  7. set -e in MIRROR_*: any non-zero step (e.g. rsync 23, dblivesmf-copies.sh) stops the run.
  8. mirrorISE_Clone line 3 is a comment cut off with $ (harmless).
  9. Minor: stale --delete comment in json_push_audio_Clone_to_Live (line 19); junk ls -al/filecmd lines at the end of mirrorISE_Dev_to_Live; rsync_cpp_to_live/rsync_perl_to_live still carry --delete unless Andrew changed them (they push /root/*.cpp etc. to Live /cpp, /perl).
  10. Dev: innodb_log_file_size; optional ImageMagick/evasive/reqtimeout; idle cups/samba/nfs/rpcbind.
